Renovation works will start at Juba Basketball Complex after the government awarded the contract to a construction company yesterday.
GoSS Youth, Sports and Recreation Minister Makuach Teny Yoh told Bakhita Radio that a Japanese company won the contract to rebuild Juba Basketball Complex in Nemra Talata after some bureaucratic delays.He said the contracted company assured him that the work would be completed by July 2.
Mr. Teny added that a Chinese company will have the Juba Football Stadium ready by June 30.
Mr. Teny revealed that his office is working hard to create more job opportunities to the youth.
He said his ministry has some funds to be allocated to the payams for building the capacity ofyoung women and men.
Both the football and basketball stadiums are under reconstruction in preparation for the upcoming independent day.
Both sports facilities will host international games that are part of the independence celebrations.
