Bishop urge parishioners to cooperate with Priests

The Bishop of Torit Catholic Diocese Emmanuel Bernadino Lowi has urged members of the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral to cooperate with newly installed parish priests and his assistances.

He said the cooperation will promote better Evangelization at the Cathedral and beyond the Church.

Bishop made the statement after installed Fr. Jacob Odwa Paul to take charge of St Peter and Paul Cathedral calling for joint efforts to solve issues regarding the mother Church.

 “These priests are going to serve us but they want our collaboration, so where they are they need our collaboration, prayers to them, and all of us go, thank you, priests, for accepting the appointment,” Bishop stressed.

Fr. Kamilo Afore Arkadio the former Parish Priest of the Cathedral warmly welcomes the changes. He was the one requested to be relieved from the Parish Priest’s position due to his health conditions.

Fr. Afore handed the key for the parish car amidst the congregation as a sign of happiness to his successor at the Cathedral.

 “I am grateful today, time has come for us, and it has been tedious work for us and the Christians Congratulations to them as well. I had complained earlier during Cardinal Ameyu’s time here with us, that I am tired, of old age and sick but I was still doing work of the youth.

The parishioners are good, the parish pastoral council are able they will not let you down, I am handing this parish to my brother Jacob Odwa with this key, we will still help where necessary,” Priest stated.

The successor Fr. Jacob Odwa who was the former Vicar General of Torit Diocese in Late Johnson Akio Muteks episcopate calls on parishioners of Sts. Peter and Paul to pray for the betterment of the Diocese, and the country of South Sudan.

Fr. Jacob Odwa acknowledges the spiritual contribution from Fr. Kamilo afore reiterating his call to continue with Evangelization at the Diocese.

 “The Faithful of Sts. Peter and Paul and people of goodwill for our coming to this parish we need your prayers, to us, the parish, and the Diocese to this country and the continent, thanks for the peaceful, fruitful time you have spent in this parish, without fear you preach the Gospel from Season to season.”

The former Secretary for Sudan and South Sudan Bishops’ conference tells believers at St Peter and Paul Cathedral that they promote unity, peace, and Love amongst Christians, not disunity.
