Eastern Equatoria State Minister for Public Service praised ex-combatants for following a course in Hotel management in Torit town.

Emilio William Odingila said on Friday that Hotel Management was a marketable profession, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He remarked that the industry had been given a bad image in the state due to lack of professional awareness.

Mr. Odingila said the training took the burden of employment as the former soldiers were acquiring skills of self-reliance and they could create their own jobs in the hotel industry.

Nineteen ex-combatant women completed their first stage of their training on food processing.

The minister urged the trainees to make use of the knowledge they gained and make it practical for earning a living.

He also encouraged the trained ex-combatants to register with the Directorate of Labour to access work when opportunities arose.

The reintegration of ex-combatants is sponsored by German International Service (GIZ).
