Rumbek Nursing School is receiving new candidates for Community Certified Course this Friday and the new course starts on Monday at the Mapourdit Campus.

The School decided to postpone the admission of new students following inter-tribal clashes around Mapuordit Payam in Yirol West County of Lakes State.

Magdalen Awor, who directs the School, told Good News Radio that the decision to call the successful candidates to report this Friday followed the deployment of SPLA forces around Mapuordit.

She said the 19 new students will begin classes on Monday at Mapuordit.

Ms. Awor added that although the delay puts the Institute’s academic program behind schedule by at least two weeks, the teaching staff will integrate the introductory subjects into the foundational courses to cover for the lost time.

Ms. Awor appealed to the community members of Mapuordit to welcome the new students who hail from different parts of South Sudan, explaining that they are ready to serve the community and there is no need to discriminate against anyone.

She also appealed to the new students to feel at home in Mapuordit and learn to accept the local context, striving to find unity in diversity.
