Authorities in Wau tell private clinic to contract specialists

The state Minister of Health in Western Bahr El Ghazal has encourage private clinic owners to use their relationship with their colleagues in Juba to contract specialists.

He said such expert can work in Wau and attend to some cases because in Juba many Specialists are present to the extent of health facilities becoming few to accommodate all of them.

Dr. Vincent Taban Joseph points out that private clinic owners should take advantage of the situation to invite them to come to Wau and work in their clinics.

Dr. Vincent Taban advises Doctors in the state to be connected to their other colleagues who are specialists so that they can both work together to serve the population in the state.

He adds that if some specialists come to the state, they will help in training some junior doctors to specialize.

During the celebration of the New Year at Blood Bank the Director General of Wau Teaching Hospital revealed that the hospital is being run by six doctors.

He said most people are doing administrative work and their medical duties as well as citing the need for urgent recruitment for the new doctors to help in the hospital

The Health Minister also advises Doctors practicing Medicines in the state not to focus their investigation on only Malaria and Typhoid.

Dr. Vincent Taban Joseph points out that anybody even if he/she is not complaining of any symptoms and signs gets diagnosed with any disease Malaria and Typhoid will come out positive as such Doctors should investigate other diseases.

Taban Joseph tells Doctors to take time to investigate in detail with their patients before reaching a conclusion about Malaria and Typhoid citing that the quality of investigation and diagnosis at the level of private Clinics should be different
