The Governor of Western Bahr El Ghazal state, Hon. Sarah Cleto Rial is appealing to South Sudanese not to fight over the issues which create division.
She says South Sudan belongs to all the people and nobody should fight due to the border since the government is responsible for handling such matters.
The revised agreement signed in 2018 has established a boundary commission with international experts but such a body has not yet done its work.
Governor Sarah points out that border issues are not a prerogative of the citizens to decide but government duties to address.
She mentions that if there is any issue of Border to defend it should be between South Sudanese and other neighboring countries that are encroaching on South Sudan’s land.
Cleto Rial tells citizens to focus on building peaceful coexistence among themselves as South Sudanese and disengage themselves from fighting over border issues.
The state Governor of Western Bahr El Ghazal was speaking to the Faithful at St. Mary’s Help of Christians Cathedral.
Her remark came after the Apuk Community of Gogrial East in Warrap State and the Wau community of Jur River County have been engaging in fighting over the Manyang area
