Upper Nile State launches road renovation ahead of President Kiir endorsement

The government of Upper Nile State has launched the beginning of the renovation of internal roads in solidarity with the Ministry of National Roads and Mama Eric Dett, a road company in the country.

Kiir’s mission in Upper Nile is to declare his candidacy and endorsement as SPLM flag bearer for the anticipated forthcoming election of 2024.


He added that the state government will do its utmost to complete the maintenance of the streets and improve the necessary services for citizens, such as education, health, and clean drinking water.


The Minister of Roads in the state of Upper Nile Thomas Ani Odhok explained that the company will renovate about 51 kilometers of internal roads in town.

The Mayor of Malakal City Chul Lual Deng praised Mama Eric Dit Company (ARC) in its first phase, which Lawal considered a large part of the city’s beautification process, announcing their support for the company.


The representative of Mama Eric Dit John Omojok, the contractor of street maintenance, also confirmed that they will carry out street maintenance at a distance of 51 KM.

This will be mainly internal streets around the town and the outskirts of the city to facilitate traffic.

He stressed that the restoration operations will not be completed before the upcoming visit of His Excellency the President of the Republic to Upper Nile state.

According to the posters, President Kiir is expecting to travel to Malakal next week and the political rally commence on 7th December.
