Bishop of Tombura Yambio Visited the Aweil Rice Scheme

The Bishop of Tombura – Yambio Catholic Diocese in Western Equatoria State on Saturday paid a surprise visit to the Aweil Rice Scheme in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.

Bishop Edward Hiboro Kussala appreciates the Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State for launching the rice harvest in the Awiel Rice Scheme.

He encourages the people of Aweil to expand the project, emphasizing that there is no need for people to feed on rice coming from outside.

‘‘ We would like to feed the whole South Sudan with rice from within here, from Aweil, and also to export made in South Sudan rice to other Republic in the world ’’ he added

The administrator of the Aweil Rice Scheme from the State Ministry of Agriculture Santino Deng Ngong thanks His Lordship Bishop Edward Hiboro Kussala for visiting Aweil Rice.

Last week the governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State Tong Akeen Ngor launched the rice harvest at the Aweil Rice Scheme as Farmers at the scheme managed to cultivate five hundred feddans of Rice this year.
