TOPOSA COMMUNITY PLEDGES PEACE FOR DEVELOPMENT

The Toposa community called for peace in Southern Sudan and Eastern Equatoria state for development of the soon to be nation.

In a communiqu√Ö¬Ω after the two days General Assembly held over the weekend at Kapoeta Mixed Primary School, the Toposa people have affirmed that peace is the key to development.
Eastern Equatoria state minister of Education, Science and Technology, Michael Lotyam Lopuke who attended the meeting, told Radio Emmanuel that the prevalence of peace in the state is among the top priorities of the Toposa people. He said peace avails opportunities to exploit the existing natural resource for the development of the region while violence retards progress of the people.

Mr. Lopuke emphasized that the three Kapoeta counties are blessed with resources and the people are willing to embrace programmes of the governments.

The Toposa General Assembly is an annual meeting of the Toposa people to deliberate on issues of development in the area.
