Chris Issa said the March report shows that more than 900 people were on HIV treatment last year and that the number has increased to more than 1,000 people this year.
Mr. Issa added that the commonest way of HIV transmission is through sexual intercourse with an infected person.
He blamed alcoholism and immorality for playing a role in the increase of the virus spread.
