The prices of goods in five payams of Tonj South County, Warrap State, have been reduced after a long rise some days prior to the referendum.

Tonj Town Mayor Joseph Anai Madoor issued orders reducing the prices of imported and local goods after the community complained of high prices even in other towns within the County.

Mr. Anai explained that the decision is made to meet the demand of the public and to help those that are unemployed get services.

He stated that the high prices were due to insecurity along the borders with the north.

Mr. Anai said that other goods will be reduced to normalize the prices and that the organized forces will be following his orders.
