JOURNALISTS END INTENSIVE TRAINING

Journalists from various media houses finished a seven-month intensive training in Juba yesterday.

South Sudan Media Forum awarded certificates to 19 Journalists from Bakhita Radio, The Citizen, The Juba Post, The Independent, Liberty FM and students from the University of Juba.

Present at the occasion were the Secretary General of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba and representatives from the media houses.

Fr Martin Ochaya Lino stated that learning has no barriers stressing the importance of developing a passion for reading and to report events accurately and fairly.

He encouraged journalists to uphold their profession which he said is a very special vocation.

Fr. Ochaya added that journalists highlight and interpret events for the masses.

The graduation took place as the world celebrated the Press Freedom Day under the theme New Frontiers, New Barriers.
