SECURITY OFFICERS DEPLOY IN MAPUORDIT

A reassuring number of security officers that the people of Mapuordit and Yirol West in Lakes State appealed to the government for has finally arrived to establish law and order after two months of clashes.

Fr. Antoine Kondo, the parish priest of Mapuordit, said in an email to Good News Radio on Monday evening that the security officers deployed to Mapuordit were “a big number of soldiers” and congratulated the government for finally taking some action.

He went on to express confidence that the security situation will get better and that the deployed soldiers would bring an end to the recent unrest.

Clashes between Jur of Western Equatioria and Dinka Atuot of Lakes started in early March displaced dozens of thousands and killing a numbert of people.
