A Church official has said that an independent South Sudan can best develop if there is collaboration among political leaders and citizens, maintaining that political divisions and hatred cannot bring any development to the new nation to be.

This was said by Fr. Danielle Moschetti, the Comboni Missionaries Provincial Superior for South Sudan in an exclusive interview with Good News Radio.

Fr. Moschetti said that South Sudan is at a crucial time when efforts of citizens need to be consolidated if any development can come about.

He called on the communities in South Sudan to shun violence and the political leaders to prioritize the common good.

Fr. Moschetti appealed to South Sudanese to live the message of peace expressed by Jesus to his disciples after his resurrection, explaining that the same message of peace is being communicated to us.

The Comboni Missionaries in South Sudan concluded their annual Assembly in early April under the theme: “Sudan will never be the same again.”
