EMPLOYMENT IS KEY TO STABLITY AND SOCIAL JUSTICE, SAYS UN OFFICIAL

The UN deputy and humanitarian Coordinator said employment is very important to stability and social Justice in the new Republic of South Sudan.Lise Grande told the attendants at the National Labour and Employment Tripartite Conference yesterday in Juba that employment is a top priority for new country.

She added that employment is the key to national reconciliation.

Ms. Grande noted that it was hard to achieve stability and relations between communities if working conditions are unfair.

She also said workers must be part of economic development and that there should be relationship between workers, employers and the government.

GoSS Labour and Public Service Minister Awut Deng Acuil said in her opening remarks that there is need to open opportunities for short skills training and employment support through temporary job creation activities.

The conference was organized by GoSS ministry of labour and public service in collaboration with International Labour Organization.

Around 80 participations including all the ten state Ministers of Labour and public Service from all over South Sudan attended the conference.
