GoSS Council of Ministers passed today the Coat Of Arms that will be the seal of the Republic of South Sudan represented by a fishing eagle.
Telecommunication and Postal Service Minister Madut Biar Yel acting as GoSS spokesperson told journalists that the coat of arms was at the top in today’s Cabinet agenda.He said the Cabinet chose the fishing eagle as the new seal that will be stamped in legal documents right after the declaration of independence including passports and identity cards.
Mr. Biar added that the official celebrations of independence will take place in the area in front of Dr. John Garang Mausoleum that was cleared recently.
He said that all bridges and other special works together with the airport facilities under construction in Juba will be ready for Independence Day.
Mr. Biar added that the Cabinet decided that private contactors will manage South Sudan air space control for the short term.
He added that intense air traffic is expected for the days leading to Independence.
GoSS spokesperson said that this measure will continue until South Sudan is recognized and wins membership at the International Aviation Organization.
