The Episcopal Church of South Sudan held a consecration ceremony at All Saints’ Cathedral in Juba on Sunday.
The consecration ceremony of the three bishops for different dioceses was led by the Archbishop of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, Justin Badi Arama.
The bishops consecrated include; Right Reverend Doctor Lule James Kenyi for the Kajo-Keji Diocese, Right Reverend Simon Chuang Ayok for the Episcopal Diocese of Renk and Right Reverend Matthew Mading Malok for the Episcopal Diocese of Akot.
Reverend Lule James Kenyi was consecrated as the fourth Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Kajo-keji and he will oversee the spiritual and administrative affairs.
Reverend Simon Chuang Ayok Deng was consecrated as the third Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Renk and will be responsible for guiding and shepherding the faithful in the diocese.
Reverend Matthew Mading Malok Madul becomes the second Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Akot and will serve as a spiritual leader and guide for the diocese, ensuring the growth and development of the local church community.
Speaking during the consecration mass, Primate Justin Badi Arama urged the congregation to rally support for the newly installed bishops.
“Dear Christians, let’s pray for these new Bishops that the Lord guide them in their ministry as they speak the messages of peace and love to the nation,” Archbishop Arama urged.
The South Sudan Anglican leader encouraged Christians to listen to God and respect the servants of God who are obliged to do their work.
The consecration ceremony was a significant event for the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, as it marked the appointment of new leaders to oversee the spiritual well-being of their respective dioceses.
