Residents of Torit laid to rest one of the County Commissioner’s bodyguards who was shot dead on Tuesday evening.
Torit County Commissioner Felix Otuduha Siro said the deceased was called Otwar and he would be buried at his ancestral home in Ifotu village, Emmanuel Radio reported.The officer was shot dead by a prison officer at Hai Police, in Torit.
Mr. Otuduho said his bodyguard asked for permission to wash his clothes after they had gone to the office together. Only in the evening he came to know that Mr. Otwar was killed.
The Commissioner added Mr. Otwar was shot after a scuffle over his former wife who was heaving an affair with him.
Mr. Otuduho said his bodyguard was confronted by a group of men, including the husband of the woman.
He said Mr. Otwar tried to seek safety at the Police station. However, during the scuffle one prison officer shot him on the spot.
Mr. Otuduho revealed to the press that the prison officer surrendered to the police immediately after the killing.
