The Bishop of Torit Catholic Diocese, Emmanuel Barnadino Lowi has discouraged politics in the Church saying it changes the order of worship and draws attention away from God’s teaching.
Bishop Barnadino says the church should not be used by political parties and urges Christians to maintain the Catholic Doctrine.
He adds that such doctrines assist in strengthening relationships and solving grievances amongst people in the community.
“This issue of politics in the church I dislike, because the church is enough we don’t want to add something more. If we just stick to what the church teaches is enough, even politics came from the church, we don’t want to change the church to be like a theatre or political club,” Bishop stressed.
Bishop Emmanuel Lowi tells Christians and priests to maintain their Christian ways by sharing accurate information to avoid creating enmity in communities.
“We should be Godly people but that doesn’t means that we should ignore the reality in life, if people are severing tell them God is love, be patient, we are thought theology and philosophy.”
He further says “We don’t have an enemy even politicians are our children, but maybe the language that we use to make like we are rivaling with them NO if you correct someone well as a church leader they will understand and be happy, I hope it’s no more there, the parish priest let the church be the church, not something else.”
The Catholic Bishop Made the comment in his meeting with the youth of Our Lady of Sorrow Parish of the Catholic Diocese of Torit in Kapoeta.
