The Metropolitan Archbishop of Juba Catholic Diocese, Dr. Stephen Ameyo Martin Mulla called the legislators to deliberate on the interest of South Sudan.

Dr. Ameyo assured the lawmakers that he will pray for them for God to grant wisdom to policymakers.

He advises the MPs to set aside individual interest, and prejudice and work towards improving the standards of living in the young nation.

Bishop Ameyo says South Sudanese have suffered enough and it’s time to make peace prevail.

He regretted seeing inter-communal violence at a time citizens could enjoy the dividend of their fight for independence.

“South Sudan had acquired her freedom at the highest cost but it is still bleeding badly, especially through inter-communal and intra-tribal conflict,” Stephen Ameyo stated.

The Archbishop prays that God transforms the hearts of the citizens and the leaders to show love, unity, and forgiveness to fully reconcile with one another.

Dr. Amayo also urges the three Arms of the government; the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary to reflect the Unity of the Holy Spirit. “One in three and three in one in action but not in subordination.”

He added that the love of the South Sudanese citizens should be used as a unifying factor for the common good of this nation.

“We pray for the three branches of the government; the Executive, Legislature, and the Judiciary that they may reflect the unity of the Holy Spirit,” Amayo beseeched.

The Catholic bishop also prays for protection and good health as the lawmakers embark on the deliberations of an agenda for improving the lives of citizens in the nation.

Bishop Ameyo asks policymakers to desist from acts of violence and engage in constructive debates in the Parliament.
