Women leaders in South Sudan are meeting in a four-day conference under the theme “Positioning women needs and priorities in south Sudan.”

Miria Matembe, a former minister in Uganda and women activist commonly known as Africa women’s voice, is one of the conference facilitators on behalf of Women’s’ International Cross-cultural Exchange (Isis-WICCE).

Ms. Matembe told SCR News that Isis-WICCE is meeting with the women who have been empowered earlier on how to engage in the post-referendum processes.

She added that Isis-WICCE would want to see women participate in building the new state right from the beginning.

The conference is also a build-up to the two-year programme by Isi-WICCE to facilitate the development process of women leaders.
