A woman activist has appealed to South Sudanese women not to join only one party saying it is dangerous for the welfare and development of other women.

Talking to SCR News, Miria Matembe told women that their tribe and party was womanhood adding that they should not allow men to use them to fight against each other.

She also appealed for the unity of South Sudan.

Ms. Matembe added that women contributed to the secession of South Sudan when they voted 62 percent for independence.

She called upon them to play a central role in nurturing the new nation so that it may grow into a strong state.

Ms. Matembe noted that there has been a slight improvement on women’s representation in South Sudan although the situation remains very bad for the local women.
