The UN Fund for Children is calling on all young Sudanese to become ambassadors of peace.
Nils Kastberg, UNICEF Sudan representative, told the attendants at a workshop on peace that the Sudanese must find alternative ways to resolve the differences and the youth have to become ambassadors of peace.Mr. Kastberg said that for too long Sudan had been using guns to resolve the differences in vein.
He added that 305,000 children and 36,000 mothers die every year in Sudan as a result of armed conflict.
Mr. Kastberg said there is something wrong in the priorities of the government of Sudan.
He added that young people should prepare the future Sudan from now.
Mr. Kastberg urged the concerned people to create a conducive environment for the young people to introduce a better future for Sudan.
