Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly works have been brought to a standstill including the approval of the 2010 budget due to lack of quorum.

Since the House closed for Christmas recess there have been no parliament debates because the number of MPs turning up for the sessions is not sufficient.

The Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly plenary can function if there are at least seventy five MPs present in the Hall.

The Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly has 171 Members drawn from eight political parties representing the ten states of Southern Sudan.
