OFFICIAL CALLS ON SOUTH SUDAN WOMEN TO FULLY PARTICIPATE IN THE COMING ELECTIONS

An official from the South Sudan High Committee SSHC for Elections has called upon women in South Sudan to actively participate in April 2010 elections and fully take up the seats meant for them.
Talking to SCR, Jersa Kide Barsaba Amin, a member of the SSHC and coordinator for teh ten states, said women seats in state assemblies total up to one hundred and twenty.
She called upon women to endeavor in taking up the opportunity, since the CPA and the Sudan constitution guarantees them a twenty five percent as their share.

Ms. Jersa Kide urged women already in power to explain the constitutional rights of women to the women at the grass roots.

Ms. Jersa Kide explained further that regulations for campaigning will come out after the nominations of candidates.
