GoSS Minister for Information and Broadcasting has accused some heads of media houses operating in Juba of politicizing the debate around the media bills.
Minister Paul Mayom Akect said that such leaders are being driven by a political agenda to try to frustrate the Government’s intention of introducing the media bills, Sudan Tribune website reported.

He added that the government has observed and realized that some irresponsible individuals have entered the media sector to use it to advance their interests.

Mr. Mayom said that professional media should not allow politicians and other organizations to use them to fight the government over the proposed bills.

He charged that it was unprofessional for media to allow or dedicate editorial columns against the government over the proposed media reform when the bills have not yet been enacted.
