Demonstrators turning up at 11:00 am were briefed by state Minister for Health, Florence Night Otto, the inspector of local government and Nimule Mugali and Pageri Payams administrator, Alphonse Irenge, Radio Emmanuel reported.
After the briefing, the crowd marched from Nimule Taxi Park to the Payam office following Nimule Juba Highway, holding placards with various inscriptions.
Some of the Placards read: “With much concern, we the SPLM and other parties in Nimule protest and demonstrate against the following.”
The reasons for concern included the change of “Referendum Bill” and the “New security bill.”
Similar demonstrations were held in Torit town and other parts of the Sudan, including Juba, organised by the SPLM and some opposition parties to show solidarity against oppressive laws that breach the 2005 Peace accord.
