MALNUTRITION AT THE INCREASE IN EASTERN EQUATORIA

Eastern Equatoria faces serious malnutrition due to food shortage that is hitting hard the state this year.

Eastern Equatoria State minister for Health Florence Night Otto told Radio Emmanuel that the region is seriously hunger stricken and the health situation deteriorated.

Mrs. Night said that most of the population in Eastern Equatoria is facing malnutrition due to lack of food in the areas.

She added that more serious health issues might arise up with further complications if no proper health care services are rendered to the people.

Mrs. Night said that under-five children, lactating and pregnant mothers, tuberculosis patients, HIV and AIDS affected persons, orphans and the elderly persons among others, are already in danger.
