A group of catholic bishops of the Sudan paid yesterday evening a courtesy call to the President of the Government of Southern Sudan.
The bishops went to the residence of President Salva Kiir Mayardit to wish him and his family a happy Christmas.They also shared with Mr. Kiir the outcome of their 10-day Plenary Assembly that took place in Torit.
Mr. Kiir expressed his joy for the outcome of the latest round of negotiations with the NCP about the bills that will guide the referenda in Southern Sudan and Abyei and the popular consultation in Blue Nile and South Kordofan.
The president and the bishops exchanged views on the current political situation.
