Budi county health department through the State ministry of health in Eastern Equatoria receives one new land cruiser vehicle handed over by the Health Pool Fund on Wednesday in Torit.
Speaking during the event, Mr. Amin Gaetano, Health Pool Fund state coordinator says they provide the means of mobility to help ease challenges the health facility is facing in the County.
Gaetano asks for the proper use of the vehicle by the county department of health.
He also reveals that Torit County in near future will receive a new ambulance while Kapoeta East and North are subjected to a similar land cruiser to Budi County to facilitate the activities of the health department of the four counties.
// in regards to this vehicle that we are giving today, it has really come at the right time where there is urgent needs, Budi county has been one of the county with a lot of issues most of the Vehicles were grounded down, we hope this time, we will not have that challenge, we don’t need to have different programs which cause lack of logistic to some of the activities that will be conducted, we also procured an ambulance to Torit and same Land cruiser had top to Kapoeta East and Kapoeta North, because all those once that we have on the ground are all ground and beyond repair, health pool fund is ready to work with the ministry of health and we expect the government to ensure there is a very good security to this partners to maintain this vehicles.
Mr. Angelo Mauro, director for Budi County Health department says they have been suffering from lack of mobility in the last three years.
Mauro says the vehicle will help the facility to perform its health activities successfully.
“ the vehicle is going to support us in the county, surely we have been suffering with lack of mobility for the transportation health activities and of staff for supervision and Budi county is a very vast county and roads are very bad, I thank the ministry and Health Pool Fund partners for giving us a new brand vehicle, in fact for the last three years, the first procurement for Health pool fund vehicles, they were grounded until now we have seen a very good vehicle which is going to support us in an environment.
While Hon. Lodae Pasquale, State minister of Health in Eastern Equatoria says there have been problems between departments and high authority in some counties on the usage of vehicles that belong to the county health department.
Pasquale calls for cooperation among county health authorities and other stakeholders for the maintenance of vehicles.
// in regards to the use of the vehicles, we have seen many issues related to conflict between health authority and county high authority on the use of vehicles, this time we will ask the county commissioners and executive directors to really coordination with the county health directors to see the good use of this vehicles, we have seen where Ambulances or project vehicles have use on wrong purposes, but we employ everyone to see that every asset that is coming in should be used only for that program, the basic aspect of life is in the ministry of health, let this vehicle be of good service to the people of Budi, let all the other vehicles that will going to the respective counties and serve the people of eastern equatoria in a good faith.
