The speaker of the Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly said that providing basic services to the people comes before embarking on the construction of a new capital from scratch.

Talking to SCR News, James Wani Igga, one of the top Bari officials in GoSS, said security, food security, hydro-ower and roads should come first before the construction of a new federal capital city.

The Bari community said last month that they will not provide the government with any land for the expansion of Juba city or for building a brand new capital for South Sudan.
