“UN mandate is to implement resolutions of peace deal”, says official

The mandate of UN agencies is implementation of resolutions of any agreement, Adewuyi Adewumi, UN Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS, field officer for Warrap State assured the community on Tuesday in Tonj South County.

He stresses that in the 2022 conference, the name of Warrap governor will go in the history of state and South Sudan at large.

Adewuyi urged the community to fully implements the agreements initiated because UN witnessed many resolutions, but none of them have been implemented.

He said “with the existent of members of parliament and the commitment of the governor in the conference, it will be successful if we ask ourselves what are the obstacles and challenges why many resolutions have not been implemented”.

The officer said since 2011 they have been supporting many peace conferences in the state levels and the country at large.

The officer assured the society that United Nations will stand firm with South Sudan and they will always be ready for every help for a peaceful living in south Sudan.

He thanks UNDP, IOM and WFP present in the conference for supporting the society financially and materially.

The UNMISS Field Officer for Warrap State made the remarks to Don Bosco Radio on Tuesday during Tonj Community Peace Conference in Tonj South County.
