Pope’s Altar construction to take 45 days, says Skyline Constructing Company

The construction of the Altar that Pope Francis will use to preside over Eucharistic celebrations in July is slated to take forty-five days according to Skyline Constructing Company Limited.

Skyline constructing Company which was established in 2006 in Juba deals with commercial buildings, apartments and many other big building projects within South Sudan.

Skyline Company Project administrator, Engineer Moyatt Maheen, says they started the work immediately after Bishop Stephen Nyodho blessed the foundation and their equipments at Dr.John Garang Museum.

He adds that they will be working in day and night shifts to speed up the work in the period of one and a half months.

“Actually, today we have started the work by doing some excavation job, they have given us a very short time period of forty-five days”, he explains.

“Given the capability and ability of the company, the human resource we got, the machinery we got and all the financial capabilities, we will be able to complete the work in the same time frame given”, he adds.

Maheen says up to twenty-one days they will do concrete casting of the slabs using high strength concrete technique to enable the construction of the Altar within the time frame given.

He says the construction company appreciated the government for entrusting them the work and promised to fulfil the trust by doing descent work in the 45 days.
