Accused number three, denied being defended by the defense lawyers headed by Advocate Malith Jok Thiang.

30-year-old, Sergeant Major Gabriel Deng Dut of South Sudan National Police Service thought he was not being defended well by the defense lawyers when he was alleged being a body guard to Fr. Mathiang

He was brought in among the accused suspects because of his being so close to Fr. John Mathiang, accused number one, as a driver and apparently a body guard.

The court then gave Dut the chance to ask questions to the forth witness where necessary through the presiding judge, Justice Alexander Sebur Subek.

Advocate Jok clarified to journalists that “We are not surprised because it’s his right; we have guided him with some legal procedures.

Dut is expected to stand independently in the next court hearing on Monday 21st February 2022 in juba
