Members of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights will on Monday begin their ninth visit to South Sudan.
A statement CRN got on Friday said Commission chair Yasmin Sooka and Barney Afako are expected to meet with key government ministers from 7 to 12 February.
They will also meet civil society, religious leaders, diplomats, Revitalised Peace Agreement monitors, UN agencies and the UN Mission in South Sudan.
The statement said the two commissioners will discuss steps and support necessary to implement transitional justice mechanisms under the Revitalised Agreement, following a related Conference hosted by the Commission in December 2021 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The Commissioners will talk to the media on Friday 11 February 2022 at 9:00 AM at the UNMISS Headquarters in Juba.
The Commission was established in March 2016 by the UN Human Rights Council to investigate the situation of human rights, determine and report facts and conditions of violations and abuses in South Sudan.
