The advanced team of Kit-Gwang and Agwelek factions on Thursday arrived in Juba after signing a peace deal with the government in Khartoum, Sudan
Upon arrival at Juba International Airport on Thursday, the head of the Agwelek forces advanced team Paul Achot said it is time for South Sudan to have peace, Bakhita Radio reported.
“We have to prove out that we are peace lovers and we want peace to prevail in this country. This country cannot take any more war; we have to agree that we killed our selves enough. If I’m here today, Olony will be here tomorrow, and Simon Gatwich will be here the next day, anybody else who belongs to this group will be here as soon as possible”, Achot explained.
Meanwhile SPLM-G Deputy Secretary for Political Affairs, Santo Malek appreciated the leaders of the two groups for accepting the agreement. President Salva Kiir on Monday granted amnesty to Agwelek and Kit-Gwang forces after signing a peace deal in Khartoum.
