Principal of Yei Crop Training Centre, David Bala, complains that this national Technical Vocational Training Institute on Agri-business Extension is encountering challenges.
He tells Radio Easter some of their staff members have fled to the neighbouring countries and internally relocated during the conflict.
He is encouraging those with excellent agricultural background of studies to join the institution.
Bala is urging youth of South Sudan and Yei in particular to have agricultural skill training in the Crop Training Centre to upgrade the livelihood of the community.
Yei crop training Centre is a countrywide Technical Training Institute established in 2000 under the directorate of Agriculture training and education of national Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.
The Centre graduated ten students in animal husbandry, vegetable production, crop protection, rural development, agro-forestry, appropriate technology and many others before the end of 2021. It is the only existing Agricultural Technical Vocational Training Centre after the demise of Kegulu Forestry, Nzara Agric-Technology, Marial Lou Animal Husbandry and Training, Padak Fisheries and Boma Wildlife.
