Eastern Equatoria former governor asked for a financial auditing of the state’s treasury to uncover last year’s misappropriation of government money.

Emor Ojetuk refuted claims that his government was responsible for the misuse of public funds, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He accused the government of spending 95 percent of its 2010 funds in six months.

The former governor stressed that his supporters are being wrongfully accused while he retired to private life.

Mr. Ojetuk said the government should constitute an investigation committee to establish the people responsible for mismanagement of the state funds in 2010.

Mr. Ojetuk added that he served with a clean record and established several projects in the state that are visible to date.

The former governor made these statements on Saturday at Iumurok Village on Saturday during a mass in honor of Emilio Taffeng.

This was his first public speech since he lost the April 2010 election.

Presidential advisor Joseph Lagu asked the former and the current governors to overcome their political differences and work together for the good of the state.
