Western Equatoria governor urges ministers to prepare for President Kiir visit

The governor of Western Equatoria State is urging ministers to start preparation for the coming of President Salva Kiir and First Vice president Dr. Riek Machar.

Alfred Futuyo Karaba after the arrival from Juba on Thursday said the president, first vice president and vice president for economic cluster have promised to visit Western Equatoria State.

“Our president wants to come here it is a work for us now, we will see with the administration on how we can organize a committee and if we can organize in January it will be fine so that it may not upto February if we are serious. The president wants to come, the first vice president, vice president for economic cluster and the minister of education, these are the people who want to come”, he explains.

Governor Futuyo says their coming is to visit all ministries and meet with all cabinet members to discuss some issues affecting them at the state level.

“They are going to be with us here for three days to visit all the ministries and ministers, also all our politicians whom we have been carrying fingers pointing them in Juba will all come maybe it will be a big occasion. People should start preparation from now, we will sit down and organize because important guests are going to come, but the accurate is yet to be announced because the time is at our hands because they said we are the ones to schedule time”, he discloses.

The state leader reveals that his visit to Juba was a political, but to go and tell those at the national level that Western Equatoria celebrated Christmas well without any recorded criminal act.

He calls on the people of Western Equatoria State to keep the preventive measures of COVID-19 because there is a new corona virus coming call Omicron variant and it is very dangerous.

The governor made this statement in Yambio on Thursday after his arrival from Juba at the State secretariat.
