At least one person is reported wounded after sustaining gunshot from unidentified cattle raider in a cattle attempt.
The incident occurred at around 1:55 PM at Iluhum Residential area, according to the Director of Public Relations and Moral Orientation, Colonel Mathew Ochan, Radio Emmanuel reported.
“Yesterday at around 1:55 PM in Iluhum, there was a report by Pio Omoko Joseph 29 years, Lotuko by tribe that one person was shot on right hand by unknown gunmen seemed to be criminal wanted to raid cattle”, he explains.
Colonel Ochan says police force tried to follow the footmarks, but failed to trace the whereabouts of the criminal.
He says information has been passed to the nearby village to help arrest the criminal.
“The cattle ran by their way and the suspect even run away, but the victim saw the suspect wearing a while large shirt and white trousers. There were people who followed the footmarks of that person, it is only one person, we followed up the footmarks up to Lobalwa by that side we cannot managed even to find out when he already enter to the road side, there is no any information, but we sent information to that areas of Tiriangore and Haffurere, but there is no report that they arrested, the Director of Public Relations and Moral Orientation explains.
Colonel Ochan urges communities to cooperate with security forces by reporting any suspected person moving with a gun.
“The criminal is a human being. It needs our community to see somebody. If you don’t know him crossing your area you have to report it. And let us know who is entering the town with a rifle or gun and those who are going outside with a rifle or gun need to be known. My message to the community is that any suspected person like that must be reported”, he notes.
The speaker made the remarks to Radio Emmanuel in a telephone interview on Wednesday.
