Governor says malpractices in Yei Civil Hospital lead to drug shortage

The Governor of Central Equatoria State says issues of drugs shortage in Yei Civil Hospital is due to overstocking and malpractices.

Emmanuel Adil Anthony notes that the storage facility is so small and it needs expansion.

“So one problem I know from here is the storage. The house is so small. So we have to find a mechanism of constructing two rooms to store drugs. Do not sell medicines to help the sick people”.

Governor Adil promises to rehabilitate the mortuary, increasing the civil servants’ salaries and constant electricity supply within the hospital.

“Now we are in peace and the implementation of this peace we will focus on development so I would like to tell you that we have to put in a mortuary. The issue of salaries, so that you the staffs will be fine. We have decided as a cabinet of Central Equatoria State to double the salaries of the civil servants together with other counties these double salaries is already released and there are others would need special allowances we will have all these done. The issue of Tore Ambulance, I would like it fixed to help in reducing the long distance”, said the Governor.

“I would like to talk on electricity the solar has inverter problem once this problem of electricity is solved, we will have increased supply in this hospital so that you have full electricity meaning money for service will also be doubled. We will have this hospital upgraded to be regional referral hospital to handle Lainya, Morobo and Kajo-Keji and it is going to be stock with all the necessary equipment including MRI”, he added.
