At least 70 eye cataract patients in Tonj can see after years of blindness

At least seventy eye cataract patients can finally see after staying blind for many years.

Their sight was restored after Warrap State Minister of health, officially launched the operation of eye cataract patient, at Indeed and Truth Ministry Hospital in Tonj South County.

Out of 700 patients registered, at least seventy people have been operated, meanwhile the rest will follow.

One of the patients who can now see, Madut Jong Kuch, expresses his gratitude to the hospital, Health Ministry and other health partners for supporting the communities.

“I am here, I can see. I was not able to see, but I always see people who are close to me and it depends on the type of clothes they wear. Thanks you so much may God bless you in your good work you have done to the community of Tonj”, Jong expressed.

Meanwhile, Director of Indeed and Truth Ministry, Albino Dut Malith, reports that the sight of the first 70 patients who went under operation has all been restored.

“Dut Malith added that those people they are happy and some of them are seeing very well and they can identify people. Some of them have stayed for many years like ten years without seeing”.

He thanks God for the successful operation.

County Medical Director, Marial Moses says over 700 patients were registered and that the screening is ongoing to identify people who can be operated.

The officials and the patient were speaking to Don Bosco Radio in Tonj.
