The Internally Displaced Persons or IDPs, residing at UN camp in Juba, are appealing to the government to help evict people occupying their homes.

After 2013 and 2016 conflict in South Sudan, many people left their homes and took refuge at the UN protection of civilians’ site.

Speaking to Bakhita Radio in an exclusive interview in Juba, UN Camp 3 Chairperson, Bidit Ruot Gai, says their houses have been occupied by armed men.

He adds that it has become so hard for them to leave the camp.

The IDPs say they are ready to return to their homes as soon as their houses are left free.

On her part, IDP camp 3 women representative, Nyakoay Chuol Deng, says they are living in appalling conditions in the camp.

She reveals that UN has already cut off water and food supplies from them, making life extremely difficult.

Meanwhile, Chairperson of the Committee for Information in the Parliament, Paul Yoane Bonju, says they will table the IDPs’ issues in the parliament.

Thousands of people sought refuge at the UN Camp in Juba, Malakal, Bentiu, Bor and Wau, following the outbreak of conflict in South Sudan in 2013.
