Torit Catholic Diocese Emeritus Bishop Paride Taban urged believers in Nalingaro Parish in Kapoeta to strengthen faith for peace to prevail in the state and South Sudan at large.
He said peace can only be achieved if youth and children are engaged in the word of God.
“In our country as were celebrating Centenary let us be close to God, servant people who always work very hard, my God grant them peace in their life and in our country, may God strengthen our faith, this can happen if we in our families continue to strengthen the faith of our youth, our children”, said Bishop.
The Emeritus Bishop mentioned that one can overcome obstacles or attacks through faith in God.
“Just visit villages in Toposa you will find ash put, so it indicates that there are people always praying, now if you go to Toposa villages every one even if elders love prayers, that means there are people of faith, if it could be that we don’t have faith, sometimes even if you go on convey you are shot many times like bees, but it couldn’t happen, serious bombings were happening even if someone poison you through food, you will not die, just mind prayers God will help you, thank God those having strong faith give them another hundred years”, Bishop Taban advised the faithful.
Appreciating the faithful who introduced Christianity in the world which has made people to live in faith, the catholic prelate says human beings survive through God’s grace.
He said “many of us have not reach 100 years, something very important for our life is faith, we are not like animals surviving on thinking on Money and Food, we are surviving because of God who created us in his image, we thank God and those who introduce Christianity how we can stay in this world and how we can love ourselves because this faith has made us brothers and sisters, we also need to stay in happiness with our children”.
The Emeritus Bishop was giving his homily during the Vigil mass at Nalingaro parish in Kapoeta on Saturday.
