The Catholic diocese of Yei started yesterday its twelfth annual meeting at the Lutaaya Pastoral Centre in Yei town to prepare the silver jubilee celebrations scheduled to start on Sunday.
The event opened with the celebration of the holy mass led by Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe of Yei, Easter Radio reported.Bishop Lodu told the participants that he was happy to meet new people in the assembly.
He added that the meeting was very important and required an active participation from all delegates to be successful.
Bishop Lodu urged the members to participate in the assembly rather than going out for their own things leaving a few to do the work alone.
The four-day assembly that started yesterday is attended by 28 people from different parishes representing priests, sisters, catechists and laity.
The participants will prepare a comprehensive programme to celebrate the diocese’s 25 years while the heads of departments will present their annual reports.
