LAKES GOVERNOR PRESENTS DEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR THE STATE

Lakes State Governor presented a number projects to be implemented in the State that include South Sudan TV coverage, road rehabilitation and the conclusion of the stalled Rumbek electricity project.

Chol Tong Mayay made the presentation to the press after returning from an official visit to Juba where he met with GoSS president and some ministers, Good News Radio reported.

He said he discussed with the information Minister the coverage of SSTV signal in Lakes State territory.

Eng. Tong discussed with the Roads and Transport Minister the poor state of the Yirol-Wau highway.

The Governor said the head of the Electricity Corporation promised to resume the works to provide power to Rumbek residents.

Eng. Tong said he met with diplomats from China and India and invited the Chinese to assist in the health sector and the Indians to venture into business.

The Governor regretted the ongoing skirmishes in Mapourdit, adding that he is communicating with his colleague of Western Equatoria to find a lasting solution to the disputes between Jur and Dinka communities.

Eng. Tong added that security forces are on the ground to prevent further retaliatory attacks.
