St. Mary’s University started the new academic year in Juba with the introduction of new college.

The university, which was opened in 2008,with the college of rehabilitating sciences, started now the college of education, Bakhita Radio reported.

Dr. Ben Katoro, who coordinates between the university and the archdiocese of Juba, explained that Archbishop Paolino Lokudu Loro blessed the premises of the new college.

Dr. Katoro said the university’s administration thought it was best to introduce the college of education because South Sudan lacks qualified teachers.

The university resumed yesterday with 17 students in the college of Rehabilitation and 20 students starting the degree on education.

The administration plans to open next year the faculty of social work.
