Minister of Cabinet Affairs Dr. Martine Elia Lomurö won a court case of money laundering Kenya Asset Recovery Agency levied against him early June this year that prohibited accessing his accounts in Kenya.

Kenya Asset Recovery Agency accused the minister of using his wife Reja Keji Ladu as conduit for money laundering.

The case was brought under three sections. Section 3, section 4and section 7 of the asset recovery Agency law which is prosecutes of crime and money laundering act 2009.

Dr Lomurö told media that his legal team of Kogweno and Bubi responded quickly to the allegations on July 7 by detailing the Asset Recovery Agency his legal sources of income and his account in the Cooperative Bank of Kenya.

“The ARA on reviewing my sworn affidavit was satisfied that the source of my funds are legitimate and legal and not link to any money laundering activities. Thus on the 15th of September after my lawyers presented my case before the high court of Kenya in Nairobi, the court ruled to set aside and resent its orders of June 4th unfreezing access to my account and further declared that I am at liberty to access and transact my account freely at the cooperate bank of Kenya”, he explained.

The minister said the allegation levied against him was politically motivated by the December 16th Non UN neo-colonial illegal sanction inspired by regime change agenda in south Sudan that intend to tarnish his reputation and his political career

Elia warns his political enemies, cyber criminals and social media terrorists who celebrated the allegation against him to update their record that he is not a money Launderer or financial criminal.

“Dr. Elia is a loyal citizen who abides by the rule of law. I commit to work with president, in the peace road map now that this case is ended; I am more fresh focus and determine to help the president with the implementation of Revitalized Peace process”, he explained.

“I’m very much thankful for the Kenya High Court for its absolute integrity and upholding high standards of the rule of law, justice and equality for all regardless of nationality”.

The minister was addressing the media on Thursday after the declared that he won the case he was accused of money laundering.
