Peace monitors train stakeholders on gender mainstreaming in Yei

CTSAMVM in partnership with Gender Empowerment for South Sudan Organization or GESSO trained non-political stakeholders on gender provision and mainstreaming into Revitalized Peace Agreement in Yei River County.

The course under the theme: “Strengthening partnership for gender mainstreamed monitoring”, is to improve collaboration of CTSAMVM and non-political stakeholders, Radio Easter reported.

The exercise is to implement permanent ceasefire transitional security arrangements and agreement on cessation of hostilities.

Yei County Acting Executive Director, Jackson Oryem Aurelio, in his opening remarks on Tuesday, urged citizens to cooperate with CTSAMVM in peace monitoring.

He called on CTSAMVM to enlighten citizens in villages on the Revitalized Peace Agreement because many still do not know.

GESSO executive director, Sarah Nyanath, calls on citizens to act positively in implementation of the agreement, advising them to stop the notion that peace will prevail through certain parties or individuals

The two-day workshop expected to end on Wednesday evening, brought in civil society and, community-based organizations, traditional leaders, eminent personality, faith-based and youth leaders.
