The Food and Agriculture Organizations of the United Nations or FAO has raised alarm over fake advertisements circulating on social media that it is advertising jobs.

In statement seen by Bakhita Radio on Monday, the organization says fraudulent messages shared on Face book and other platforms claim that FAO is advertising jobs in South Sudan and calling for candidates to send their application to a private email address.

The Organization warns the public against fraudulent schemes soliciting applications for internships or employment opportunities on behalf of FAO or its officials.

FAO strongly recommends that prospective applicants and recipients to carefully verify the authenticity of solicitations and offers before sending any response.

Candidates interested in working with FAO in South Sudan and abroad are strongly invited to check the current vacancies and employment opportunities on the only legitimate FAO employment Web site accessible.
